- The Future of the Guru System: An Interview With Zakir Hussain. The guru system—practicing 20 years just to become an apprentice—is dying, but is that such a bad thing? Tabla master Zakir Hussain weighs in.

- An Old Sound in Harlem Draws New Neighbors’ Ire. Some upscale douchebags ain’t got no love for brutha thumpas.
- Dog Drummer vs. Def Leppard Drummer. This piece is rather on the mean side of funny, but Rick Allen does at least come out ahead of the drumming mutt. We could have gone all day, though, without seeing the first four seconds of the second video. Fuck!
- Mortification Announces New Drummer. The Christian metalers have a new skin slayer—Dave Kilgallon.
- Riverdance Drummer Sues Over Tinnitus. Wimp.
- Rush Rock Progressively Harder. A pedestrian review of a Rush show. It even includes this my-article-is-way-too-short sentence: “That was especially true when the skull-cap-wearing drummer sat alone on stage, giving his multi-piece, rotating set a serious drubbing.” But, hey, it’s about Rush and Neil Peart, so we’re duty bound to read it.

- Local Drummer Beats Old Record. Well, looks like Link Logen did it. He played solo drums for 86.5 hours, breaking the previous record by almost an hour.
