  • Let There Be Drums! Documentary

Let There Be Drums! is a new drumming documentary that will be released on October 28. The title feels like part command, part exaltation, and part biblical oratory—all of which are appropriate considering that Taylor Hawkins gives one of his last known interviews in the film. In short, it’s looking like a must-see.

The documentary also features Jason Bonham, Ringo Starr, Stewart Copeland, Chad Smith, Stephen Perkins, Adrian Young, and Tré Cool. And that is very cool indeed.

If you are feeling brave, you can catch the film in select theaters (I’m still a Covid coward, so no goddamn way), and it will also be available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. I’m not sure, though, if it can be rented or if it is purchase-only at this time. Snag an actual physical DVD, you luddite, on November 1.

  • Jason Bonham Working on New Zeppelin Material?

There is a god, and she is merciful. Or maybe just a prick tease. We’re not exactly sure yet, but it does appear that Jason Bonham has been jamming a little with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, which can mean only one thing—Led Zeppelin reunion! Bonzo’s boy said:

I’ve been over a couple of times with Jimmy and John Paul just trying to do some new material and writing….So I don’t know what it will be but it will be something. I mean this is something that I always wanted to do but trying to predict what it will be at the moment…all I know is I have the greatest pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and try and work on some new material, so it’s been fantastic in that aspect.

  • Jason Bonham Would “Do It in a Heartbeat”

Yeah, you know what we’re talking about: a Led Zep tour. Bonzo’s boy told the BBC today that his sticks are essentially loaded and cocked and ready to rock the fuck out whenever he gets the call.

Somebody get Plant a cell phone.

  • Dave Grohl to Play With Zeppelin?

After last month’s one-off Led Zep gig, the reunion rumors kicked in with full force, and now Dave Grohl is reportedly interested in taking over the drum chair….Well, yeah, who the fuck wouldn’t want that gig? It seems likely, though, that Jason Bonham will handle the stick swinging duties should Zeppelin actually tour. Grohl himself said as much to NME.com in this interview:

I am at their beck and call, but Jason should be the one….It should be Jason and everyone knows that, it should be Jason. And Jason’s a fucking phenomenal drummer, you know? And he’s a really sweet guy, he’s a really good guy. They seem like a family, they feel like a family that have been around for a long time.
